Primary Purpose of Department

Facilities Information Systems provides application development and support for specialized Facilities systems to campus buildings and infrastructure.

Primary Purpose of Position

The Business and Technology Analyst will develop and support web applications for Facilities Management and for the University as a whole. The position also provides support/development, Archibus, Smart client (CAD) and GIS modules. This position also administers the ArcGIS web server and the ArcSDE spatial database.

Summary of Position Responsibilities

Develop web applications with a focus on mapping. Create scripts for automating mapping processes. Administer the GIS database and GIS web servers. Administer GIS and floorplan (CAD) data collection.

Minimum Education/Experience

Bachelor Degree

Preferred Education, Knowledge, Skills and Experience

1. Knowledge and skill in developing Geographic Information Systems (GIS)/Mapping-based applications using ESRI suite (ArcGIS, ArcIMS, ArcSDE, ArcInfo, ArcView).
2. Experience developing web-based services and SOA.
3. Experience with client-side, web-development languages (JavaScript, HTML, DHTML, and CSS).
4. Experience with relational databases (Oracle/SQL).
5. Ability to effectively communicate the English language (reading, writing, interpretation and comprehension) required.
6. Effective skills in verbal, written and interpersonal communications.
7. AutoCAD or Revit Experience.
8. Possess a technical understanding of web services, RESTful web services, SOAP and JSON.
9. Selected candidate must have the mental and physical capabilities to perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodations.

Valid driver’s license.
