12:00 pm – 6:00 PM Monday – Friday and other hours, as necessary.

Primary Purpose of Position

Safely and skillfully operates vehicles for SafeRide operation. Holds a valid NC drivers license and is held to a higher standard of driving based on the fact SafeRide transports passengers around campus safely.

Minimum Education/Experience

Sufficient experience to operate effectively the machine to which assigned. Driver’s license may be required.

Essential Job Duties

Transport ADA faculty, staff, students and visitors on campus to designated hub locations.
Drive shuttle buses and trams when necessary.

Other Work Responsibilities

Work during all commencement programs in the school year. Required to pass all random drug tests and periodic DMV record checks.

Departmental Preferred Experience, Skills, Training/Education

High School Diploma and a minimum of 4 years of school or passenger driving experience. A valid NC driver’s license with a clean driving record. CDL Class B license with passenger endorsement a plus. Ability to lift 50 pounds to a height of your waist. Ability to assist with the loading and transportation of passengers with disabilities onto the shuttles / buses. Previous customer service experience. Experience using Microsoft Excel and Word.

Necessary Licenses or Certifications
