The Software and Information Systems Department is a pioneer in Information Technology research and education. We offer a wide selection of courses in Information Technology and Software Engineering emphasizing on designing and deploying IT infrastructures that deliver integrated, secure, reliable, and easy-to-use services. Our security and Privacy program is recognized by the National Security Agency as a National Center of Academic Excellence in Information Assurance Education.

Description of Work

Thus, the Job Responsibilities and Essential Functions for Non-Tenure Track Faculty should be interpreted in the context of the related departmental and collegiate teaching goals.

Teaching – Faculty responsibilities and essential functions with respect to teaching may include but are not limited to: subject matter competence, course design, course presentation, and grading student work.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Teach three Cyber Security related courses per semester ranging from introductory to upper division courses. A successful applicant must have strong technical background and hands-on cyber security experiences across a broad range of cyber security topics with preference given to: digital forensics, penetration testing, malware analysis, OS and network security.

The College has a Center for Education Innovation that provides faculty support for active learning and creating an inclusive and diverse environment for teaching and learning.

Minimum Experience/Education

UNC Charlotte gives primary consideration to the earned masters and/or terminal degree in the teaching discipline or a related discipline.

Preferred Education, Skills and Experience

An ideal candidate will have some combination of a PhD degree in Cyber Security or a related discipline (required), prior experience teaching computer science courses, and industry experience in cyber security. A successful applicant must have strong technical background and hands-on cyber security experiences across a broad range of cyber security topics with preference given to: digital forensics, penetration testing, malware analysis, OS and network security.
