Monday to Friday: Generally 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM depending on Library schedule

Pay Rate $15.00 per hour
Minimum Experience/Education

Applicants must have completed 24 credits (or two full semesters of work) toward a Master’s in Library and Information Science from an ALA-accredited program

Departmental Preferred Experience, Skills, Training/Education:
  • Interest in and/or coursework in data visualization, analytics, and/or assessment
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Analytical and creative problem solving skills
  • Experience conducting independent research
Duties and Responsibilities

In support of UNC Charlotte’s goals for student success and retention, the Assessment & Analytics Fellow will work closely with the library’s Head of Assessment to explore how students are engaged across the library and align these data with campus student engagement and success data collected via the National Survey of Student Engagement (NSSE). With these data, we will explore how engagement with the library is associated with student academic success, retention, and graduation rates.

Duties and Responsibilities:

The fellow will use statistical and visualization tools to analyze the library and university student engagement data, with tasks including:

  • Assist in aligning multiple, large data sets to track student engagement in library activities and across the university
  • Assist in data coding and analysis
  • Assist in formulating interview/focus group design and implementation
  • Produce data visualizations using Tableau
  • Produce report(s) and presentations based upon findings from the study
  • Participate in other assessment projects, including usability testing
