8:00 am – 5:00 pm; Monday – Friday with occasional evening and weekend hours, as necessary.

Primary Purpose of Position

The Data Analyst provides data management and reporting for all graduate programs in the Belk College and will support the Director of Academic Planning and Accreditation in the development, implementation, and ongoing coordination of activities to serve the College’s reporting needs.

Minimum Education/Experience

Graduation from a four year college or university and one year of program associate experience; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.

Essential Job Duties

The Data Analyst will focus primarily on data management and reporting for all graduate programs in the Belk College, including the tracking and processing of all graduate assistantship and scholarship awards and managing the data side of the graduate admissions process.

The Data Analyst will support the Director of Academic Planning and Accreditation in the development, implementation, and ongoing coordination of activities to serve the College’s reporting needs. This position will be relied on heavily to efficiently and consistently provide key data points to the Dean, Associate Deans, Department Chairs, Program Directors, and other staff. The Data Analyst will be expected to advance the College’s access to timely and accurate data for both internal operational decision making and external reporting to stakeholders (such as accreditors and ranking agencies) through data collection, analysis, reporting, and project management.

1. Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
2. Demonstrated ability to take initiative on a data-oriented project.
3. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and work well in a collaborative setting.
4. Demonstrated ability to handle competing demands from several constituencies simultaneously.
5. Demonstrated high-level of Excel proficiency, with experience in the use of macros, functions, and conditional formatting preferred.
6. Comfort with pulling data from multiple sources and manipulating it to answer questions.
7. Experience with Salesforce, and the ability to create and use Adobe Acrobat fillable forms, and eGRAD, Banner Student, Report Central, and WebFocus.
