Primary Purpose of Position

This position will provide authoritative financial and administrative post award support to CCI faculty and staff. This position works closely with faculty and staff, tracking expenditures and monitoring budgets, effort management, and burn rate. Responsible for maintaining funds from inception through close-out in department of assigned responsibility, as well as providing backup in other areas as needed. This position also serves as liaison between the Grants and Contracts Central Office and the PIs and staff of CCI.

Minimum Education/Experience

Four year degree in a related business function and one year of experience in accounts reconciliation, business processing, office management, or human resources; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.

Essential Job Duties

Fund reconciliation, document verification relating to budgetary issues and appropriate University guidelines and processes and Federal guidelines related to grants and contracts. Preparation of personnel documents and budget revisions as needed. Recording of data for required reports. Effective communication as needed with both faculty and staff.

Other Work Responsibilities

Provides back up for department administrators as needed for grant related issues.
Logs, monitors and tracks eGAs (graduate assistant appointments), release time appointments and summer salary.
Analyzes budgets expenditures for compliance and accuracy.
Knowledge of federal agencies policies and procedures needed to perform the work independently.

Departmental Preferred Experience, Skills, Training/Education

Experience working with grants and contracts in a college/university setting; knowledge of OMB guidelines; strong accounting background.

Background in sponsored research administration.

Experience with Excel and working within Banner.

Attention to detail and strong communication skills.
