Primary Purpose of Department | The Williams States Lee College of Engineering has approximately 4000 students in five departments. Research awards in COE represent nearly a third of the university total. The College of Engineering prides itself on its excellence in undergraduate and graduate education, and is home to several interdisciplinary research centers: the Energy Production Infrastructure Center (EPIC), the Center for Biomedical Engineering Systems (CBES), the Center for Precision Metrology (CPM), the Infrastructure, Design, Environment and Sustainability Center (IDEAS), the NC Motorsports and Automotive Research Center (NCMARC), the Asset and Infrastructure Management (AIM) Center, and the Center for Advanced Multimodal Mobility Solutions and Education (CAMMSE). |

Essential Duties and Responsibilities | The William States Lee College of Engineering (COE) at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte invites nominations and applications for the Belk-Woodward Distinguished Professor in Engineering. The position will be filled at the rank of Professor within any of the College’s five departments. (Civil and Environmental Engineering, Electrical and Computing Engineering, Engineering Technology and Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering and Engineering Science, and Systems Engineering and Engineering Management). |
Minimum Experience/Education | UNC Charlotte gives primary consideration to the earned doctorate or terminal degree in the teaching discipline or a related discipline. |
Preferred Education, Skills and Experience | This position is open to applicants with credentials and experience appropriate for appointment at the rank of Professor in the College of Engineering. Candidates should have 1) an earned doctorate in engineering or a related field, 2) an outstanding record of scholarly accomplishments and funded research, 3) a demonstrated ability to work across disciplines to build and lead a collaborative research enterprise, and 4) a strategic vision for a transformative research area. |
