Description of Work

Thus, the Job Responsibilities and Essential Functions for Non-Tenure Track Faculty should be interpreted in the context of the related departmental and collegiate teaching goals.

Teaching – Faculty responsibilities and essential functions with respect to teaching may include but are not limited to: subject matter competence, course design, course presentation, and grading student work.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Serve as the Coordinator of Nursing Simulation and Interdisciplinary practice by providing leadership to ensure the day to day structures and process are in place to promote student and faculty simulation success; Identifying opportunities for improvment, innovation and implementation of patient simulation technology into SON curricula; Designing and implements effective simulation training for faculty and students; collaborates with faculty to implement evidence-based teaching practice in the simulation environment; Collaborating with faculty across the CHHS to advance interdisciplinary simulation; Identifying grants/partnership and funding opportunities for simulation; Collaborating with the Learning Resource Center Director to ensure adequate use of space and supplies.

Minimum Experience/Education

UNC Charlotte gives primary consideration to the earned masters and/or terminal degree in the teaching discipline or a related discipline.

Preferred Education, Skills and Experience

2-years’ experience (e.g. developing, implementing, evaluating and validating case studies), in simulation, interprofessional simulation, simulation assessment/evaluation and debriefing methods creating. A minimum of 2 years’ experience working in a clinical environment, teaching undergraduate and graduate students both online, in clinical and face-to-face. The candidate must have a demonstrated ability to contribute to the School of Nursing’s diversity initiatives, as well as experience in curriculum development. Evidence of scholarly activities which align with the School’s mission and goals, as well as evidence of community engagement. CHSE Certification or ability to obtain within one year of employment.

Necessary Licenses/Certifications

Must hold an unencumbered license to practice as a Registered Nurse in North Carolina, or eligible for licensure.
