Primary Purpose of Department

The Department of Housing and Residence Life is comprised of a team of professionals committed to creating communities that enhance the academic, personal and social development of residential students and to providing students with a variety of services and comfortable living environments that are clean, safe and affordable. Approximately 5,700 students live in fifteen residence halls and a Greek Village.

Primary Purpose of Position

The Residence Education Coordinator is 12-month, full-time professional staff members in the Department of Housing and Residence Life who are responsible for providing overall management and leadership in residential halls/areas housing 300-750 residents each.

Summary of Position Responsibilities

Principal responsibilities include staff supervision and development, residential education, community development, student conduct; facility and assignment management, advising a hall leadership team, crisis management, summer operations, and other departmental/campus-wide responsibilities.

Minimum Education/Experience

Master’s degree

Preferred Education, Knowledge, Skills and Experience

Master’s degree in higher education, counseling and/or student personnel (or a related field), two years of housing experience at the graduate or professional level, and the demonstrated ability to blend the academic and residential components of student life. Additional experience in staff supervision, residential curriculum and demonstrated administrative skills will be viewed positively.
