Primary Purpose of Position

This [Budget Management] Accountant is primarily responsible for the administration, control and reporting of the University’s salary budgets, including integrating, executing, and reconciling personnel actions and budgets [of all fund types] to position records.

Minimum Education/Experience

Graduation from a four-year college of university with a degree in accounting and four years of accounting experience.

Essential Job Duties

The primary purpose of the Personnel Budget Manager is to administer, control, and report on the University’s salary budgets, and to execute and reconcile General Fund personnel actions, funding changes, and budget changes, as well as execute personnel actions and funding changes for all other funds types.

Other Work Responsibilities

Other work responsibilities include, but are not limited to, maintaining professional knowledge of General Statutes applicable to NC public higher education, UNC system and UNC Charlotte policies, designing and delivering documentation and training for campus departments, optimizing customer service delivery methods and processes, managing change, conveying professional and audience-appropriate communication to management, governing agencies, and campus departments, and supervising and managing job design and processes for the Personnel Budget unit.

Departmental Preferred Experience, Skills, Training/Education

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four year college or university in business administration, accounting, or a related field; experience with personnel budgets, financial analysis and reporting; and experience within a university system, and/or within the framework of North Carolina State Government relative to financial and budgetary matters is strongly desired. Any equivalent combination of training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
